Atrio Home Care Team Begins Receiving Vaccinations

LEARN MORE
As with many other industries, the pandemic of the past year forced us to adapt our usual processes. Extra precautions were added and telehealth visits were implemented when possible. While the steps we took were necessary, the changes were still tough. The loss of touch and social distancing measures caused our staff and those we serve to feel isolated and disconnected at times. But, we made it through, and can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
After a long, hard year, we are excited to share that our Home Care team have begun to receive their vaccinations. We feel very thankful that we are among the first in the country to be able to protect ourselves and, in turn, our patients from this virus. We are grateful that we can continue providing the highest level of care to the people we serve even more safely.

When the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, “It just became even more important to get that equipment out to the patients” and reduce the need for a personal daily visit to a client by an Atrio care provider, said Atrio Administrator Kelly Wierenga.

This spring, as it became clear that some of the ways in which we provide care would have to change, we knew that the telehealth systems we were already working on would have to be implemented sooner. With our partner VitalTech, we helped develop their Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) system. The platform, now used by over 10,000 patients nationwide, is capable of monitoring everything from oxygen level to blood pressure.
